Whoo hooo!!! It’s 2013! I just love new beginnings! They are filled with such wonder and hope and I feel like I could use a huge daily dallop of wonder and hope… Wonder and awe for what it is… what life is and a sweet hope towards what life can become. And I am choosing to believe that 2013 is going to be unforgettable! Filled with things that I can’t even fathom!

My goal for 2013… is to come back to the heart of why we do what we do… Why we see things the way we do… Why we love the way we do… why we photograph the way we do… even the why of taking photos in the first place! And in chipping away at my own heart I revealed a bit about myself and my little life… I think that life doesn’t always turn out how we imagined or planned and if I’m being honest… most of the time life and relationships are stinking hard work. But what photography does for me is create a refreshingly beautiful reminder when we have paused life long enough to soak it in. It is through photographs that I am reminded that of how we are molded and shaped… those photographs contain the true moments of adventure, laughter, delight, and love. They are the beautiful moments that remind us of who we WERE… they speak to who we ARE. Photographs are the gentle reminder that you didn’t just survive… You LIVED! And you lived it beautifully!
